Summary: In 1442, Prince Vlad, the impeller, rules Transylvania after serving the Turkish Sultan as a soldier as a child. Vlad is happily married with his beloved wife Mirena, and their son Ingeras is his pride and joy. When Vlad and his soldiers find a Turkish helmet in the river, he goes with two men to a cave in the Brock Tooth Mounting hoping to find Turkish scouts. Although they stumble upon a deadly creature that kills the two men, Vlad manages to escape the cave alive. He learns that the creature is a vampire. The next day, a Turkish group of soldiers arrives at Castle Dracula to collect taxes but the messenger tells Vlad that the Turkish sultan Mehmed is seeking to train a thousand boys for the Turkish army. Vlad unsuccessfully tries to negotiate with Mehmed and when the soldiers return again to pick up his son, Vlad kills them all. Then he goes to Brock Tooth Mountain and meets the vampire. He tells that he needs his power to defeat his enemies; Otherwise his people would be executed by the Turkish army. The vampire gives his blood to Vlad but explains what can happen. Vlad will have his power temporarily for three days and will return to his human condition if he resists the thirst for blood. But if he doesn’t resist, he will turn into a vampire forever. Vlad accepts the offer and defeats the Turkish troops, but he soon understands the price he will have to pay to regain his power.
At the turn of the century, young lord Vlad and his family lead a peaceful life ruling their small kingdom, but when a Turkic chieftain demands Vlad form an army of a thousand boys and his son, Vlad is a Terrible seeks power that will allow him to save his kingdom and family from the Turks at a terrible cost.
